Olufemi Dokun-Babalola

Born in Surrey in the UK in the 50s, the author was educated at Olivet High School, Oyo, Government College Ibadan, and the great University of Ife. He studied Medicine and specialised in ophthalmology. He currently runs a practice in Abuja (The Rachel Eye Center) and lectures at the Bingham University, Karu/Jos, where he was the foundation Dean of Medicine and Head of the Department of Surgery. Prof. Babalola was once the Senatorial candidate of the Alliance for Democracy in the FCT and the Deputy National Secretary of the party. When not attending to his patients or writing papers, Prof. Babalola loves football, plays chess, travels, and enjoys interacting with his grandsons, Zozo and Choco! Prof. Babalola also loves church music, especially those written in the style of 16th to 19th-century hymnody (the golden era of church music), and has written a number of hymns in his own right. He once conducted the music at the Convention of the Nigerian Baptists, and is the organist at the Wuse Baptist Church, Abuja.
